LOU coach Xavier Garbajosa was sanctioned for his attitude towards the refereeing body. He will miss the Challenge Cup quarter-final against Toulon on Saturday.
Lyon coach Xavier Garbajosa has been suspended for a week by the Disciplinary Committee of the National Rugby League (LNR), as the latter announced on Wednesday. Garbajosa «was found responsible for “Action Against a Match Official” and specifically for “Disrespecting the Authority of a Match Official”during the defeat of LOU against Toulon on March 25 (23-27) in the Top 14.
Garbajosa will therefore not be on the Lyon bench during the Challenge Cup quarter-final on the lawn of … Toulon, this Saturday (1:30 p.m.). A 46-year-old French international, Garbajosa coached Montpellier between 2019 and 2021 before being appointed head of LOU last summer. The Rhone club is 4th in the Top 14 after 21 matches.
