«Foxy Lady», «Slick», «Dax», «Tucana» and «Marchalado» rule the Estrella de Levante Regatta

the twenty-third Levante Star Trophy , at the Real Club Náutico de Torrevieja, you already have its first leaders. In Class 1-2 the Foxy Lady, owned by Klaus Bauer with an IMX 45, has been the provisional leader, while in class 3 the Grand Soleil 40 Slick, assembled by Juan López Santa-Cruz, does the same, as does Dax , by Sergio Durá, and Tucana I by Patricio Valverde in classes 4 and 5 respectively. In Division 2, amateur and club class, Marchalado de José Luis López closes this first day occupying the first provisional place.

A very good first day, in terms of wind conditions, both at the start and throughout the inshore race. The fleet has been accompanied by a South component wind (180º) with an intensity that has remained at 9 knots. Three starts and all three with the fleets grouped and close together in the center of the line, with the “good positions” for the great favorites in their respective classes.

The ‘big ones’ had 12.46 nautical miles ahead of them. Departure at 1:00 p.m. with unmarking beacon, then beacon 1, from there to the beacon located at the exit to return to 1 and head towards Cabo Roig. After completing this procedure, the fleet stretched a lot, with Foxy Lady and Pedro Gil’s Maverta pulling the ‘big’. The ‘little ones’, 10.68 miles, starting and directing to beacon 1 to point their bows towards Cabo Roig.

The Foxy Lady was the first to take the finish line, at 2:58 p.m. Behind him was the Maverta 2 (15.07.26 hrs.), Slick (15.07.44). The rest of the fleet was arriving staggered, with a finish line located in the vicinity of the RCN de Torrevieja.

After obtaining the corrected times, Foxy Lady, Griego and Four Glory occupy the first three provisional places in Class 1-2. In the 3, Slick Maverta 2 and Mar Menor are in the drawer, with one day to go. Dax, Saleroso 2.0 and Tamoa, provisional podium in class 4. Regarding Class 5, Tucana I, Oso and Grumete are in the drawer, while Marchalado, Kuttune and Pampeón occupy those three places.

Tomorrow, Sunday the 30th, second and last day with another coastal regatta to Cabo Cervera, this time with an approximate route of 11 nautical miles for the ‘big’ fleet and somewhat smaller, in distance, for Division 2.
