Former Malta coach had ‘improper conduct’, but don’t prove the harassment – Football

(ANSA) – VALLETTA, APRIL 28 – The former Maltese national team coach, the Italian coach Devis Mangia, was found guilty of “incorrect conduct” but not of sexual harassment.

As a result he was disqualified, but will be able to rehabilitate by following a training course. This is the result of the investigation conducted by the Safeguarding Council and announced by the Maltese Football Federation (Mfa).

The investigation began last September, after the sudden suspension of Mangia (for a year also coach of Italy under 21) a few hours before a match for the national team decided following the complaints of two players who had reported having received sexual suggestions. “The board has not found enough evidence to support the sexual harassment allegation,” nor “has it found enough evidence to support the soliciting allegation,” the MFA said in a statement.

Mangia, who has also been investigated by the Maltese police, has always denied incorrect conduct but the note from the MFA states that “however, the council has found sufficient evidence to support the accusation of improper conduct”. As a result, the coach has been suspended from any football activity, but he can be rehabilitated if within six months he registers and completes a course on professional ethics. (HANDLE).
