“Fight for Champions League”: Eggestein denied translation

For Eggestein, it was “funny and exciting to travel to the Weser Stadium for the first time in a bus that wasn’t cheered on.” The midfielder, who wore the Werder jersey for ten years, was not treated like a normal opponent during the “special game” in his former living room. “I was very happy about the warm welcome from the fans,” said Eggestein, but didn’t make the Bremen supporters happy with the Freiburg victory.

“He probably means that we’ve made up ground for the teams behind us and that we’ll see if we can catch up against Schalke,” said Eggestein, but then had to laugh himself. In terms of content, however, he addressed an important point, as the lead in 7th place has increased to eight points and in 5th place to six points. Eggestein’s return could hardly have been more successful.
