Fed up with the wells, neighbors decided to play “crazy golf” as a method of protest to fix the streets

A man became exasperated and spoke out against his council for not taking care of the wells they wreak havoc on the local main street, so she decided to take matters into her own hands. Ben Thornburyof Malmesbury, Inglaterrajoined other neighbors and started an initiative that went viral.

The 18-year-old opted to take action and installed a crazy wells golf course on the high street, in an attempt to capture the attention of Wiltshire Council in a creative way.

A sign welcoming golfers reads: “Wiltshire Council, you are a disgrace. Fix the potholes. Main street crazy pothole course is now open.”

In dialogue with “Mirror”, Ben stated: “Potholes have been a problem for months and months. People have been injured on the main street as mentioned during a meeting held by the council! In addition, stones that were jumping from the road. A resident was picking up the largest stones that had hit a store window.”

Also, according to Ben, the main street “would be much better without the potholes”, because it not only “does not create a good impression for the city, but also damages the vehicles of residents and tourists” in one of the oldest districts of England.

With enough feedback from residents about the wells, with a number of people fearing for pedestrian safety, Ben decided to take action. “SI got the idea for crazy pothole golf because I saw a resident post a picture in the comment section of a pothole post, I thought it was brilliant and I just had to make it happen in real life!”

His campaign has since sparked a “brilliant response” from residents, with a post on a local Facebook page. Ben has now created the group “Crazy Pothole Golf UK”, who says he counts prominent anti-well activist “Mr Pothole” among his supporters.
