Daniel Ricciardo is an interesting option for Formula 1 teams, as Günther Steiner and Otmar Szafnauer know all too well. The team bosses of Haas and Alpine respectively cannot rule out that the Australian will be back on the grid next season, nor whether it will be with one of the aforementioned teams.

Steiner acknowledges that it is interesting for Haas to enter into discussions with Ricciardo for a seat in 2024. “Although it is early at this point to talk about next year’s occupation,” he says. the Dutch branch of Motorsport.com. “Let’s see how the current drivers are doing first. Perhaps there will come a time when I talk to him, but I can’t promise him anything.’

Kevin Magnussen and Nico Hülkenberg are currently doing an excellent job for Haas. “If our current drivers do well, then we will probably stick with what we have,” Steiner continues. “But I think everyone would like to talk to Danny. Maybe after a year of rest he will know what he wants. In any case, he will be of interest to everyone in F1.”

Alpine has already shown interest in Ricciardo

Szafnauer admits Alpine showed interest in Ricciardo, now third driver for Red Bull Racing, last season when Fernando Alonso signed for Aston Martin. “We spoke with Daniel last year. We ended up with Pierre (Gasly, ed.), who was available at the time and Daniel then signed with Red Bull. But, as Günther says, he is a fantastic and still young rider. I wouldn’t be surprised if he races again in the future.”
