The tournament, which will be held between April 28 and 30, was presented this Monday in the capital of Badajoz and was attended by the General Director of Sports, Dan de Sande Bayal; the delegate of attention to the citizen in the Provincial Council of Badajoz, María Dolores Méndez; the manager of the Municipal Sports Foundation in Badajoz, Alberto Martínez; the president of the CP Mideba, Manuel Antonio Díaz; and the team captain, the Mexican José Salvador Sandoval.
During his speech, the General Director of Sports defended the role of minority sport in our country and invited us to reflect on the need to join forces so that this minority discipline, such as wheelchair basketball, achieves a greater “thrust” in De Sande Bayal’s words.
Dan de Sande has highlighted the value of the competition and the work of the organizing entity, CP Mideba, so that this final phase of the tournament is played in the region, and has indicated that the celebration of events of this type “endorses all the efforts that clubs, administrations and athletes make for the promotion of sport”.
