Lazio striker Ciro Immobile (33) was involved in a violent crash on Sunday morning. The former player of Borussia Dortmund crashed his car into a tram in Rome.

Immobile was behind the wheel of his car. He was traveling with his daughters, who came to a hospital for checks after the collision. A spokesman for the fire brigade revealed this to the German Press Agency.
Immobile told the Italian newspaper “Gazzetta dello Sport”: “Fortunately I’m fine, I just have a little pain in my arm.”
Only the tram driver was injured, the newspaper reports. Some passengers on the tram were also taken to the hospital for examinations, the Ansa news agency reported.

According to Immobile, the tram “went through a red light”. The police initially gave no details about the course of the accident. A spokesman for the Atac transport company was also unable to provide any information.
One of Immobile’s daughters, who was in the car, left the scene of the accident wearing a neck brace, according to the report.
