Elena and Hubert get U21 ÖM gold in Krems – Judo Landesverband Salzburg

Seven medals for Salzburg on the second ÖM day

After three ÖM golds the day before in the U16s, two ÖM titles went to Salzburg on the second day of competition in Krems. Dengg Elena and Illmer Hubert do not show any weakness in their fights and win gold at the Austrian U21 Championships with sovereign performances.

For Elena, who this time started a class higher up to 78kg, it was also a last form check before the World Championships in Doha (May 7th to 15th). The 18-year-old from Lungau celebrates her World Championship debut there in the general class.

Sickinger Larissa wins the runners-up title on Sunday after losing the final in the Golden Score against her long-time rival Klaus-Sternwieser (Reichraming) and Höllwart Mathias, who wins silver behind club colleague Hubert. With their 3rd places, Schinwald Marlene, Helena Rottenhofer and Schwarzl Tim also made it onto the ÖM podium.

With a total of 18 medals (5x gold, 4x silver, 9x bronze) and several 5th places on both days of the competition, a successful Salzburg ÖM weekend for the age groups U16 and U21 was completed on Sunday.
