Echagüe fell to Independiente and was left out of the Argentine League

Atlético Echagüe Club was eliminated from the Argentine Basketball League, after losing 80-70 in the second match of the series against Independiente de Santiago del Estero, which ended in a 2-0 loss for El Negro.

The start of the game was even with well-thought-out offenses and no rush from both teams. During those first minutes, the good work of Torres causing damage to the paint, added to the good management of Emiliano Correa’s team, were enough to begin to stretch the difference for the locals. For his part, Echagüe could not find the formula and lost the first quarter by a difference of ten (24-14).

In the second quarter, both teams lost effectiveness and after almost 4 minutes the set remained 2-2. AEC took advantage of Independiente’s bad moment and, with González and the good tackle from Llerena, narrowed the difference to two with a lack of 12 seconds. But when it was all over and with only 1 second to go, Tomás Allende appeared and from 3/4 of the field hit a bomb on the final horn.

The third quarter was very even with two teams making the same mistakes and virtues. Independiente led the score, but was closely followed by Echagüe who appeared with Bautista Fernández’s triples.

For the last quarter, Torres became strong and unstoppable for the Negro’s defense. Independiente took off on the scoreboard thanks to good defensive work where he was able to close a difficult game.
