Doubts about sports director Hasan Salihamidzic are apparently growing

At Bayern Munich there are apparently internal doubts as to whether sports director Hasan Salihamidzic is still up to his job. He reports that kicker (Monday edition).

Accordingly, the opinions in the management of the German record champions would accumulate that his post was a size too big for Salihamidzic.

According to the report, CEO Oliver Kahn, who is also said to be criticized internally, has no influence on the future of the 46-year-old. According to the club’s articles of association and the German Stock Corporation Act, this is the responsibility of FC Bayern’s supervisory board.

A decision on further cooperation with Salihamidzic and Kahn could be made on May 22nd when the control committee meets. The group of nine is attended by, among others, President Herbert Hainer, the head of the body, and Supervisory Board member Uli Hoeneß.

Hoeneß is considered a big supporter of Salihamidzic. Most recently, it was said that he would continue to enjoy the support of the honorary president.

Salihamidzic and his team led by Marco Neppe (Technical Director) are primarily responsible for squad planning – and thus for transfers such as that of Sadio Mané, who recently made (negative) headlines, especially off the pitch. With the exception of Matthijs de Ligt, no commitment has really taken off this season.

The main criticism of Salihamidzic’s transfer policy: A real replacement for striker Robert Lewandowski was not committed.
