Diego Aguirre’s Olimpia made their debut drawing 1-1 on their visit to Melgar

Melgar from Peru and Olimpia from Paraguay closed the first date of group H of the Copa Libertadores with a 1-1 tie this Thursday at the height of Arequipa, so it was a good point for the visit.

The Guaraní team, which has Diego Aguirre as coach, Juan Verzeri as assistant and Fernando and Ignacio Piñatares in physical preparation, began winning at 14′ thanks to Guilermo Paiva, who capitalized on a rebound, but the joy did not last long.

The Argentine Bernardo Cuesta converted at 20′ with a low and crossed forehand from outside the area and sealed the result of a match that had the Uruguayan Alejandro Silva playing the first 79 minutes.

In this group, H leads Atlético Nacional with three points after beating Patronato 2-1 at home. The Argentine team will visit Olimpia and the Peruvian team will visit Atlético Nacional.
