Clarisse Agbégnénou still in negotiations with the Federation to wear the Blues judogi

The debate around the judogis of the athletes of the French judo team is still far from over. Despite the agreement reached between Teddy Riner and the Federation, thanks to which the triple Olympic champion will fight again with an Adidas judogi during competitions for the French team, Clarisse Agbégnénou announced on Twitter that she was “still in negotiations with the Federation”.

“Clarisse experienced this as an injustice, which I understand, because there was a difference with Teddy, who had negotiated. This agreement with Teddy is important for the Federation, the French team, the young people and our values”, commented Stéphane Nomis, president of the Fed, when Riner’s return to Adidas was announced. A vision shared by the French: “Where some saw a venal and individualistic approach, my team and I were in a fight for fair treatment and uniqueness within a collective, in particular that of our beautiful French team. »

The return of Teddy Riner to the three-stripe brand, however, did not convince Clarisse Agbégnénou to do the same. The judoka said she refused two proposals: the redemption of her contract with Mizuno and financial compensation. She nevertheless assured that she had “proposed three possibilities as of March 23, but to date [il n’y a] no feedback from them.
