Chess won gold at the ALBA Games

The Creole delegation continues adding gold medals in the fifth edition of the ALBA Games that are held in Venezuela. For this Friday, Anny Otazo occupied the first place on the podium in the Blitz modality.

The players of this discipline stood up for the nation, since the other medals were won by the Creoles. Vicmary Pérez won the silver, while Jacksilany Guadalajara obtained the bronze.

The president of the Venezuelan Chess Federation congratulated the conquest of the young women representing the tricolor.

The male category almost repeated the feat. Unfortunately, the first place was left to the representative of Cuba.

Samid Escalona took the silver and Ronald Brizuela the bronze.

“My congratulations to IM Lisandra Ordaz from our sister nation of Cuba for winning the gold in the contest with the gentlemen,” said the manager.

Venezuela added five metals in the same discipline on the first day of the sporting event. In the medal table are counted:

  • Oro (14)
  • Plata (14)
  • Bronze (8)

In total, 36 medals are registered occupying the first position.
