Chelsea FC sacks Tuchel successor Graham Potter

Dhe English football club Chelsea FC has released coach Graham Potter after only six months. The London club announced this in a statement on Sunday.

Co-trainer Bruno Saltor (42) will initially succeed Potter as an interim solution. The 47-year-old Potter only came to Chelsea in September 2022 as the successor to Thomas Tuchel.

The “Blues” lost 2-0 to Aston Villa in the Premier League on Saturday and are only eleventh in the table. Chelsea have won just three out of twelve Premier League games this year. In the Champions League, however, Chelsea have reached the quarter-finals and meet Real Madrid.

Rumors about Nagelsmann

Potter has agreed to work with the club to ensure a smooth transition, it said. “Chelsea would like to thank Graham for his efforts and contribution and wish him well in the future.”

According to information from the broadcaster “Sky” and the transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the London club is interested in signing Julian Nagelsmann, who was recently fired at Bayern Munich. Romano wrote on Twitter that Chelsea had always seen Nagelsmann as an upcoming coach to keep an eye on.

The Italian was the first to report the separation of Bayern from Nagelsmann. Romano Rúben named Amorim, who currently coaches Benfica Lisbon, as another possible successor to Potter.
