(ANSA) – ROME, 04 APR – “We have confidence in Inzaghi, the fact that he has a contract means that we have established a multi-year relationship. We are happy, we are in the running on three fronts, we have not been consistent in the league and we need to find continuity again. For the rest, we’ll play in the semi-final of the Italian Cup, then we’ll play the Champions League and this tells us that this team and this coach have had an important journey.” Inter CEO Giuseppe Marotta said it before Juventus-Inter. “It is clear, also economically – he added – that being outside the first four places would oblige us to review all plans, at the business plan level, in view of next year”.
Speaking to Mediaset, Marotta continued: “We managers always talk to Inzaghi and also to the players, without interfering with management. He is the leader and he is the one who uses the right dynamics to find the right concentration. Having said that, football is made up of results and all of us – he underlined – are under scrutiny and if we don’t achieve certain objectives we will all be guilty if we have to speak of guilty”.
“When the competition is at a high level, the players charge up on their own, while in the league against inferior teams you have everything to lose and little to gain – explained Marotta -. This year we lost a lot of points with the ‘provincials’ but more for our shortcomings. There we have to improve and solve the problems.
