Boston broke the NHL points record, Pastrňák already has a third Kučerov in sight

Hockey forwards David Pastrňák and Tomáš Nosek contributed two points to Boston’s 5-2 win over Washington and helped break the NHL scoring record.

The first period of Boston’s battle with Washington did not offer a goal. In the second act, the audience at the TD Garden was already in for a treat, and Pastrňák was there twice. In the 29th minute, the native of Havířovsk encouraged Brad Marchand to score with an imaginative pass, and six minutes later, Tyler Bertuzzi hit his shot into the goal.

The Czech forward has collected 111 points in 81 games and is one game shy of Nikita Kučerov, the NHL’s third most productive player, with a game to go before the end of the regular season.

The beginning of the third period belonged to Nosk. The fighter from the fourth line increased the score to 3:1 at 44:13 and in the 48th minute helped to quickly respond to the Capitals’ contact goal with a pass. The Pardubice protege improved his season balance to 18 points for seven goals and eleven assists and came within a single point of his performance from last year, which was the second most successful for him in his overseas career.

New Jersey beat Buffalo 6:2 thanks to the excellent catching of Vaněček and became the third team in the season to reach over 110 points. The Czech goalkeeper added an assist on the Devils’ last goal to his reliable performance, and with three assists he is the league’s most productive goalkeeper.

Mrázek also had a successful match, covering 38 Pittsburgh shots and leading Chicago to a 5:2 victory. Even 33 hits were not enough for Lukáš Dostál to win. Despite his efforts, Anaheim lost to Vancouver 2:3, and 12 duels are already waiting for a two-point win.
