Bořek Dočkal celebrated his return to the football fields with victory! David Lafata scored the decisive goal

Commentary: Martin Minčev spent only eleven minutes on the playing field in the match with Viktoria Plzeň. The Bulgarian striker entered the match from the substitutes, but soon went to the showers after a foul and a subsequent red card. It is now clear how long his sentence will be. Minčev was suspended for two matches by the disciplinary committee.

Minčev is not a member of the starting line-up in Sparta Prague, he often gets on the field as a substitute player. However, he can sometimes make excellent use of the minutes on the playing field and score an important goal. So it can be said for sure that he can decide matches and is a key player despite his role as a joker.

Against Pilsen, however, it was a very unsuccessful substitution on his part, which he will not like to remember. Minchev was sent off while the set-up was already underway. The native of Varna demonstrated something that was, in short, absolutely unnecessary.

The Bulgarian attacker got into a shove that followed Lukáš Hejda’s hand, after which the Pilsen captain was sent off and a penalty was whistled.

For a change, Spartan captain Ladislav Krejčí cold-bloodedly converted and gave Sparta a 2:1 win.

However, the hot-blooded attacker then got into a verbal confrontation with Václav Jemelka, the stopper of Viktorián, which resulted in Minčev pushing Jemelka. Of course, the referees could not let this go unpunished and Minčev was deservedly sent off.

It must be noted, this is simply something that as a coach, and therefore a team manager, you do not want to see! The Spartans will now have to do without their joker in the next two duels.

Minčev will definitely miss the last match of the regular season in Liberec and will not even participate in the MOL Cup final against Slavia. His punishment in the form of a stopwatch for two competitive matches also applies to the cup.

Minčev weakened Sparta unnecessarily by his behavior, if we also take into account the absences with which the people of Prague will travel to Liberec.

In any case, the twenty-two-year-old talent is experiencing his most successful season in Sparta this year. He played in 34 games across all competitions, scoring seven goals and assisting another five.

All this as a mostly substitute player with reduced playing time compared to the fighters from the starting eleven.
