Bayreuth is the first relegated from the basketball Bundesliga. Coach Mladen Drijencic’s team lost to Heidelberg 96:102 (39:49) on Wednesday evening and, with a record of 6:25 wins, can no longer mathematically make it into the league. Bayreuth had played in league one since 2010. FC Bayern Munich, meanwhile, had no problems with the Rostock Seawolves and clinched their eleventh league win in a row. The third in the table defeated the Hanseatic League with 108:76 (57:29).
