The Xàtiva Badminton Club played last weekend the National Under-13 and Under-17 Master of Montilla (Córdoba), where The athlete from Setabense Andrea Orquín competed, in the sub-17 category, who played the women’s singles and doubles tests, this one with her partner Claudia Gallego, from CB Infante de Murcia. In the individual test, Andrea was third in her group and he stood up to two high-level rivals, before whom he only needed to close the rallies in a more forceful way. In doubles, Andrea and Claudia were second in their group and they stayed at the gates of accessing the semifinals of the tournament. They beat Inés Álvarez and Victoria Pérez by 21-19, 12-21 and 21-13. In the second game they lost to the number two series couple, Naiara Arnáiz and Marta Calvo, 21-18 and 21-13, missing out on the semifinals.
Andrea Orquín added several points and continues working to get the necessary ones to be in the top positions of the national under-17 ranking and ensure the place for the Spanish Under-17 Championship at the end of this year.
Besides, Badminton Xàtiva also played last Saturday the fourth and last day of the first phase of the School Games in the youth category, which took place in Xàtiva. In the appointment participated 12 athletes from the Setabense club, 5 of them from the youngest category. They achieved good results and, despite the fact that there were four direct confrontations between CB Xàtiva athletes, they won a 54% win rate in singles and 50% in doubles. Feliu Terol, Martina Molina and Alexis Piñero stood out, with four victories; followed by Meshack Martínea, Irene Orquín and Arnau Ballester, with three. While waiting for the update of the classifications of the tests to be published, several Badminton Xàtiva athletes will be classified for the Provincial Championship that will be held on May 13 in the capital of the Costera.

Next weekend, CB Xàtiva will be present at the Top Senior Master held in Ronda (Málaga), where the Setabenses M.ª José Mompó and Julio Martín will compete, who will only participate in the doubles events. Julio in the masculine and mixed, and M.ª José in the mixed and feminine.
The Xàtiva club will also be in the fourth and last day of the School Games in the cadet category, which will take place on Saturday in Valencia. The day will decide the first six classified who will obtain a direct place for the Autonomous School Championship, which will be held in May. More than a dozen athletes will take part in this fourth day of Badminton Xàtiva.
