Elite circuit. Quimperlé National Tournament, this weekend
For its 21st edition, the BC Kemperle national tournament is changing gear. For the first time, the club chaired by Jacky Hamoniaux will host the 6th round and final of the elite circuit of the French Badminton Federation. “We thought a few years ago of applying to receive the elite circuit. We finally got started this year. The Saint-Jacques-de-la-Lande club, which usually hosted the Breton round, withdrew because it was involved in the organization of the French championship in Cesson-Sévigné, so we applied, ”explains Jacky Hamonials
Recognized at the national level, the BCK already has behind it the organization of two French championships (elite in 2005 and veterans in 2018). “We have the experience of big organizations, which is good is that this elite circuit attracts a lot of high level players. »
458 players and 747 matches
For this extraordinary organization, the BCK has prepared 19 pitches to accommodate 458 players who will play 747 matches in two days. “We had 546 players register for the tournament, but unfortunately we couldn’t take everyone. We still have 42 players on the waiting list. »
The BCK will see arriving in Quimperlé players from 121 clubs. “It comes from everywhere, even from Nice and Strasbourg. We will have a really good show with 10 women and 24 men ranked N1, it’s the top level in France. »
