Asian invasion in El Requexón among a hundred blue fans: this was the open day

The few meters that go from the Oviedo changing rooms in El Requexón to the number 4 training ground yesterday seemed like an obstacle course for the blue players, who received the warmth of a hundred fans.

The club opened the training session taking advantage of the festive week and El Requexón was filled with young Oviedo fans who were able to greet their idols. Borja Sánchez was the most requested by fans, around a hundred. Many came from different parts of Spain, like Hugo Álvarez, who went from Tarragona with his father. But the most striking thing in the morning was undoubtedly the presence of several Asian children, from Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, born between 2005 and 2019 (between 12 and 18 years old), who followed the instructions of Cervera, the Oviedo coach, attentively at the stands of El Requexón. In total, there were three children and three other Kazakh monitors and 9 kids and one Kyrgyz monitor. The Asian expedition is in the city thanks to the Fundación del Oviedo. Many train in the lower categories of Oviedo and the club took the opportunity yesterday to introduce them to El Requexón.

Alfarabi Baigabulov, a young man from Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan, lives in Cádiz and was happy to be in Oviedo. “I was at the Tartiere against Eibar and it was amazing. I’ll be here for ten days and I want to know everything,” said the young man, delighted with Oviedo gastronomy and, surprisingly, with the good “chicken meat” from Oviedo. “For a year and a half we have been doing a lot of work with the international area, in the last year and a half we have brought kids from 43 different countries. We are delighted to have these kids here, some of them participate in the Oviedo Cup and have a very “It’s good. For many it’s their first time in Europe, they experience another culture and get to know the city. We’ve already been in the old town and they take the opportunity to learn Spanish. For them it’s a unique experience,” explained James Harriman, project manager for the international area from Oviedo. Bakhadir Satibaldiyev, one of the monitors, said that the experience “is good and new for us and the boys are very excited about it.”
