Around 250 archers at the III Spanish Archery Grand Prix ‘Ciudad de Cáceres’

The III Iberdrola’ Spanish Grand Prix for Archery ‘Ciudad de Cáceres’ will take place this weekend at the Ciudad Deportiva. Around 250 archers from all over Spain will participate in the event, organized by the Royal Spanish Archery Federation, the Extremadura Federation and the San Jorge Archery Club.

The event, which will be attended by national and Extremadura champions, such as Fátima Agudo from Extremadura, has free admission. On Saturday there will be a double session: morning and afternoon. On Sunday there will be a morning session, when the individual qualifiers will be played.

The Councilor for Sports, Paula Rodríguez, has presented the championship together with the managing director of the Youth and Sports Foundation, Sonia Bejarano; and the president of the Club Arqueros San Jorge, José Luis Lázaro, who have encouraged the people of Cáceres to attend this unique event in the city, according to the City Council.

“It is an event that will bring together athletes and their families, will make our city known in this competitive sport, and will also make it known to those who have not yet visited us,” he pointed out. Likewise, he thanked “the club for the organization, and the general management because they always count on our city to bring this type of event that is very beneficial and that gives so much future to the sport.”

Lázaro has detailed that “there are four great prizes in Spain, and of the three organized so far, it is the one with the most registrations, since so far there are 235 registrations from all over Spain, and people from Germany, Brazil and Portugal. 26 archers and archers come from Extremadura, which shows the relevance of this event for archery, for Cáceres and for the club since we make our city known, and also that in Cáceres and Extremadura we have very good athletes» .

“From the General Directorate of Sports we promote and are committed to these types of events and sports modalities that are minority, and that are less and less because there is a lot of activity, which means that there are more people who want to practice them,” Bejarano said. .
