An unprecedented dragshow in Liège

The seven artists who will perform at this evening all come from Liège and now perform in Brussels or even in Paris. The cast includes, among others, the winner of “Drag Race Belgium”, Drag Couenne, and two other queens of the show, Peach and Edna Sorgelsen.

”These artists left their hometown, where their identities were not safe, to settle elsewhere and live according to their own codes.”, entrusts the organization. “Despite some apprehension, they are coming together, for the very first time, to give Liège a new creative impulse in the hope of changing mentalities and preventing the violence they have suffered from being perpetrated on others.”, adds Morphae, an artist who will perform that same evening.

The simple scenography is based on a transparent box, a metaphor for museum displays in which works of art are protected but locked, but also in direct reference to in vitro fertilization, an assisted reproduction technique that is always more or less controversial for couples and parents.
