Alison Jackson wins Paris-Roubaix women’s race

Alison Jackson from the EF Education-TIBCO-SVB team won the women’s edition of the historic Paris-Roubaix race, which we followed on the Eurosport screen. Alison Jackson, who won the collective sprint finish with surprise names as a result of the favorites being involved in a collective accident, was stunned.

Despite being 34 years old, the Canadian cyclist, who happily left a difficult route like Paris-Roubaix, achieved his eighth victory in his career.

While two important accidents took place in Paris-Roubaix, which is a very competitive race, the mass accident led by Elisa Longo Borghini changed the course of the race.

As all the favorites collided with each other as a result of the accident, the jammed athletes were delayed in returning to the race.

When entering Carrefour de l’Arbre, one of the two five-star sectors of the Paris-Roubaix race, there was a fierce competition between the leader, follower and favorite groups. Although the follower group started to attack under the leadership of Lucinda Brand with 15.4 km from the finish, the not-so-favorite names in the leader group completed the historic race with a historic collective sprint finish.

Alison Jackson, who was in the 100 km escape group and worked like a bee, had a very important success at the age of 34.

Canadian, who impressed everyone with his positive attitude after the race, stated that his dream came true.

“Before the race, I dreamed of winning when we made our trip and pedaled on the velodrome, but most of the time these dreams remain dreams. Realizing my dream is unrealistic. I wanted to stay in the action during the race. I didn’t want to wait and wanted to be at the forefront of the race.”

“The first to cross the line in any bike race is truly special. This race is beyond that.”
