The Kodiak Movement – ​​level 2 cheerleading team, which won the title of regional champion.

The weekend was particularly busy for the young athletes in the region and there was movement on all the school grounds in Abitibi.

It was Amos secondary school that got the ball rolling, with the reception of the cheerleading teams. At the end of the tournament, the Kodiak – level 2 triumphed by winning the gold medal as well as the all-category banner. The podium is completed by the Kodiak – level 3 and the Intrépides – level 2. By positioning themselves in fourth place, the collective of the Intrépides – level 3 also wins its ticket for the provincial school championship.

A hundred kilometers away, Rouyn-Noranda was the scene of the regional school volleyball championship, Saturday and Sunday. Upon arrival, the winners are as follows: Cuivre et Or won the honors in youngest female and male as well as in juvenile male while the Chipmunk teams took gold in female and male cadet and in female juvenile. In other words, the formations of Copper and Gold as well as Chipmunk left no crumbs for their adversaries.

Sunday, it was the secondary school of Amos which made a point of honor to this sporting weekend by welcoming the badminton players from the region. At the end of the competition, it was the Intrépides who, in addition to offering themselves the all-category banner, won the banners for the youngest female and the juvenile male while the Kodiak left with those of the cadet and female juvenile and male cadet sections. . On the other hand, the Copper and Gold won the banner as the youngest male.

Provincial championships on the horizon

The season is not over yet and the various provincial championships are fast approaching for these teams.

As for cheerleading, the provincial school championship will be held in Trois-Rivières on April 29. At the same time, from April 28 to 30 in Sainte-Thérèse, a troop made up of 24 athletes from all categories will defend the honor of the region during the provincial school badminton championship. Finally, a little earlier in the month, the provincial school volleyball championship is organized, from April 14 to 16 between Amqui (youngest), Mauricie (youngest) and Drummondville (juvenile).
