A brake on the euphoria of Augusta

Jon Rahm started with success at the RBC Heritage, where he went with a load of sensations and fatigue after winning the Augusta Masters that weighed him down on the first day. In his match with Jordan Spieth, defending champion in the tournament, and Adam Scott, the Biscayan scored a birdie on the 4th hole (par 3) with a second shot from 3.5 meters. In the previous holes he had come out unscathed from a tee off into the trees and an approach that went over the flag and ended up in the rough.

But the view darkened like the clouds that were now hovering over Hilton Head Island. He missed the second birdie at the fifth flag by a meter and a half. The start in the next section (par 4) marked the beginning of a series of three consecutive bogeys. A second shot far from the green complicated the plans. The threat of a thunderstorm then suspended the tournament for more than an hour. After the break, nothing changed for the better. The one from Barrika was already forced to hit over par to achieve the goal. The same thing happened on hole 7 (par 3) due to a too long first pitch.

Rahm corrected himself with birdies on holes 13 and 14, the first with a transition and the second (par 3) after masterfully overcoming the water. Before saying goodbye he committed a bogey at 16 after falling out of a sandy space and having to drop. He will need to react spectacularly if he wants to get close to the lead. The characteristics of the Harbor Town field, an enclosure between walls of trees, make it difficult to play the game because it is a scenario that punishes the smallest errors.
