The report claims that when Klopp was appointed Liverpool coach he laid down a “rule” that only players who had won a trophy for the club were allowed to touch the sacred symbol. Gakpo still hasn’t won anything with Liverpool.
However, it seems that these regulations are not strictly enforced and the 23-year-old star is in fact not too affected because he is able to give his best performance.
The funny thing is, the upheaval around the ‘This Is Anfield’ symbol instead centered on United striker Wout Weghorst, who was recorded touching the symbol before the game.
