OH Leuven completely missed its start in the play-offs of the Lotto Super League. After the defeat against Genk on the opening day, a difficult draw against AA Gent, the number 6 in the play-offs, followed.
Before the start of the play-offs, it seemed written in the stars that it would be a battle for the title between OH Leuven, the leader after the regular season, and Anderlecht, the defending champion.
But both OHL and Anderlecht surprisingly lost on the opening day. A few days later, OHL was able to brush that slip off against AA Gent, which is completely last in the play-offs.
Thanks to a goal by Nikée Van Dijk after a corner kick, the women of OH Leuven took the lead. But AA Gent got stronger and also found the deserved equalizer. Fleur Van Dael set up the action at the back line and Amber Maximus finished in front of goal.
In the last half hour, OH Leuven needed a good Nicky Evrard to avoid a second defeat in a row, although the home team also had chances to take the victory.
