Cooks (27) will go to Washington until his Sydney “Kings” finish their participation in the NBL finals, the last game of which is scheduled for March 15. “Wizards” will buy out the basketball player’s contract and sign the agreement until the end of the next season.
A power forward, Cooks is described as a versatile defensive player with excellent passing skills. Cooks is playing in the NBL for the fourth season in a row, last year he was recognized as the most valuable player of the final series, and this year he received the MVP award of the regular season.
This season, Cooks averaged 16.2 points, 4.2 assists and 7.8 rebounds in 26 games in 27 minutes. He made shots from the game with 60% accuracy.
Cooks was not drafted in the NBA, but once played in the Summer League for the Golden State Warriors and Phoenix Suns. Outside of Australia and New Zealand, he spent the season in Europe, 2018/2019. representing the German club Würzburg “s. Oliver”.
