An attentive spectator of the recent clash between Ciryl Gane and Jon Jones, Francis Ngannou even placed himself as a full-fledged protagonist of UFC 285. Faced with Dana White’s incendiary remarks about him, the Predator responded just as curtly!
Until he bounces back in the ring or elsewhere, his name remains unmistakably linked to the UFC. As such, Francis Ngannou hosted UFC 285 in his own way, during which his heavyweight belt was put into play. Whether it was his prestigious successor, Jon Jones, or his former boss, Dana White, the actors of the event could not help but evoke his recent departure… and in a scathing way.

Following Jones’ takeover in the division hitherto dominated by Ngannou, the American took the liberty of publicly provoking his counterpart, whom he accuses of having fled. At the same time, White for his part sent him a murderous punchline at the end of the fight, and was not content with it. A few hours earlier, he was already brushing aside the idea of seeing the Predator one day make a comeback:

What eliminate the possibility of seeing him try to regain his throne against Bones, no offense to the fans who dreamed of this fight for a long time already. Given the circumstances of his emancipation, it would therefore seem that Dana retains a certain resentment towards the Cameroonian. Invited to react to the words of his ex-leader with Brett Okamoto and ESPNthe latter did not actually seek to calm things down:
I don’t care what Dana White says. It was my decision, not his. So he’s going to have to learn to live with that. Me, I learned to live with it, I’m doing well, so I wish him to manage to do the same.
To believe that even if the boss of the UFC had left the door open for him for a possible future reinstatement, Francis would have closed it as soon as possible.
Because after all, for such a meeting to be possible, both parties have to want it. However, Ngannou seems ready to stay on his positions until his retirement, and even determined to prove his worth in a new environment. Without forgetting the business side, which could in the future see him compete in the UFC by his own admission. So many signals on both sides that make this divorce irrevocable!
Attacked by Dana White in the media, Francis Ngannou decided to return the favor through the same intermediary. Decidedly, the relationship between the two men is really not about to work out!
