With a big plus sign / Day

Stability is the most objective measure of proving one’s ability. Latvia’s best cross-country skier Patrīcija Eidukas entered the top 20 three times at the World Championship (WC) in the Slovenian city of Planakis. In the last discipline, at a distance of 30 kilometers in the classic style, with a general start, Eiduka finished in 17th place. The highest was the 11th place won in skiathlon. 19th place for the leader of the Latvian national team in the 10-kilometer freestyle.

Patricia is still an athlete in the U-23 age category this season, but in January she did not go to the U-23 WC in Canada in order to better prepare for the adult world championship in Planika. In conversation with Day Eiduka said that the choice was justified. “I absolutely believe that the decision to refuse to compete in the World U-23 Championship was the right one, because I “ran” into the Top 20 in all three disciplines in Planika. I am very happy about that! I even won 11th place in Skiathlon. It has definitely paid off for me to compete in the adult world championships championship, not in the U-23 age group.” This year, Patricia had the last chance to compete in the U-23 world championship, and she would have been the most realistic contender for the victory.
