“We do not respect enough”, the PSG takes full face

Holder of a Master’s degree in international law, I realized at the end of my university course that it was important to evolve in a field that we appreciate. Overnight, I decided to put an end to the dream of my parents, who saw me as a future lawyer, to live from my passion: sport. Since then, I have covered mercatos and sports news, trying to inform readers as well as possible.

At PSG, some problems remain. For Luis Fernandez, former player and coach, the Parisian club tends to forget its elders, even if enormous efforts have been made in recent months. Having left for INEOS, Jean-Claude Blanc had given his agreement to the creation of an association of alumni, led by Bernard Lama.

Figure of PSG, Luis Fernandez pushed a rant in the columns of The team. It concerns the place of elders in the current Parisian project. While other European teams call on their legends, the Parisian club prefers to target other profiles, even if certain initiatives have been taken in recent years. An alumni association led byr Bernard Lama was created, but for Luis Fernandez, it is far from sufficient.

“In France, we tend to put the old ones aside”

« I regret. In Spain with Butragueno, vice-president of Real Madrid, in Italy with Paolo Maldini, technical director of AC Milan, or in Germany, the clubs make more use of their elders. But in France, and not only at PSG, we tend to put them aside » declared the consultant of beIN SPORTS.

“We don’t respect enough the people who have served”

The former international demands more respect from the PSG. « We do not respect enough the people who have served, worn the shirt with dignity. The elders are not there to take power, but to participate, bring, remember the past and the history of the club ” said Luis Fernandez.
