Unusual, ATP > Julien Boutter is loose about Federer: “I will try to be politically correct … No, he will have pissed me off his whole career”

Guest of the Court N°1 podcast on RMCJulien Boutter, former 46e world and current director of the Moselle Open (the ATP 250 in Metz), told his particular story with Roger Federer, who has been driving him for more than twenty years but involuntarily…

“I’m going to try to be politically correct… No, he pissed me off his whole career. I lost against him in the final for his first title (in Milan in January 2001, editor’s note). Afterwards, he creates an exhibition, certainly which is beautiful and which makes sense, but not in front of professional tournaments, everyone is unanimous on this (the Laver Cup takes place at the same time as the Moselle Open whose he is the director, editor’s note). And he ends his career during my tournament… I don’t take it as personal attacks but fate is relentless”explained the Frenchman with a smile.
