Tudor, after OM’s victory in Rennes: “I’m very proud of the players”

“How do you analyze this victory?
Playing for OM is always special, with special pressure. After our Cup game (defeat against Annecy in quarters), winning here has a lot of value. We wanted to react. When something like what we experienced happens to you, we either stop and cry, or we react. This evening (Sunday), I am very proud of the players. Coming to win here is not easy for anyone because they play really well.

Beyond success, your team has regained a fighting spirit. Is this cause for satisfaction?
Obviously. It was not easy, players are not machines. It was hard for them too. It was important to relaunch.

After a good start, your players seemed to have a slump. Is it the physical backlash of a week with three matches?
I don’t have the same analysis as you. It is also linked to the score. When a team is trailing 0-1, they will press harder. Rennes did not create many chances except from set pieces.

You have decided to establish Balerdi despite his difficult week. Can you explain this choice to us?
Because I believe in him. He was one of the best. »
