Too much Manchester United for so little Betis in the Europa League (4-1)

Manchester United put land in the middle in the Europa League round of 16 tie against Betis. The English prevailed 4-1 at Old Trafford against an Andalusian team that went from more to less. Rashford, Antony, Bruno and Weghorst scored the goals for the locals while Ayoze scored the honor and hope for the visitors. The return will be next week at Benito Villamarín.

Betis fell asleep in the first minutes of the game. Rashford did not forgive Luiz Felipe’s mistake in defense to shoot Bravo and make the first of the night. From there, United searched unsuccessfully for the second goal. Betis drained water while Pellegrini tried to convince his team to control possession of the ball. The reward came with the great goal from Ayoze Pérez after half an hour of play. The canary was able to make the second a few minutes later but crashed into David De Gea’s post.

United gale in the second half

The English left revolutionized after passing through the changing rooms. It was snowing in Manchester but the football gale was put on by Erik Ten Hag’s men. Wan-Bissaka’s change worked: Antony began to gain more of Abner’s back and it didn’t take long for him to do damage. The Brazilian invented a great goal from the front. An unappealable shot by the entire squad. The goal of the night and the turning point for a Betis that broke down after the Brazilian’s goal.

The second part was a constant submission of United to Betis. Bruno Fernandes took advantage of a new defensive oversight from the visiting defense to score the third with a header from a corner. The fourth was made by Weghorst in the final minutes and the reality is that the result could have been more bulky if it weren’t for Antony’s mistakes in front of the goal. Betis clings to the epic and a miracle to spend next week in the second leg of this round of 16 Europa League.
