It was pointed out by the Secretary of Sports and Youth, Carlos Turdó, within the framework of the inauguration of La Casa del Deporte, the new multipurpose gym located in the Arraigo Sur neighborhood of the city of Río Grande.
In the inauguration act that was accompanied by neighbors and neighbors, the registrations for the sports schools began and from this Monday the activities and classes begin in the place.
“I am very happy that today we are inaugurating this beautiful House of Sports, a house for our young people, boys, girls, adults, athletes with disabilities, which will give them an immense opportunity to add sports stimuli,” Turdó explained.
This will be possible through the classes that can be offered simultaneously, since La Casa del Deporte has a martial arts room, an artistic and rhythmic gymnastics room, and a conditioning room that will also be for high-level athletes. performance and that will function as CEPAR, a joint sports field with official measures for all disciplines that will serve for sports initiation as well as for official competitions, stands, changing rooms and bathrooms, all of excellent quality.
“This space has to be full of content, and that is why we have a great team of teachers, people who work in customer service and maintenance of the space, receiving them as of today by enrolling in each of our sports schools and receiving them from on Monday with the beginning of the activities”, said the Secretary of Sports and Youth.
Activities will begin this month for more than ten conventional sports disciplines (such as judo, taekwondo, wrestling, artistic gymnastics, rhythmic gymnastics, volleyball, basketball, among others) regional sports (cycling, canoeing, climbing and more than eight for athletes with disability.
On the other hand, and in response to the demand that exists in the city, Turdó confirmed that La Casa del Deporte may be shared by educational institutions for physical education curricular spaces.
The official thanked each of the workers who are part of the Sports Secretary team and who have the “enormous challenge of working every day so that this place has content and that we all take care of it” and invited neighbors and neighbors to get closer and get to know La Casa del Deporte.
The Casa del Deporte contains an official 20 x 40 meter court, three multipurpose rooms, a canteen, administrative offices, changing rooms, bleachers for 250 people, a warehouse for sports materials, an infirmary, restrooms, and parking for 50 vehicles.
