The U-20 Indonesian National Team coach Shin Tae-yong has summoned 29 players to attend training camps (TC) in Jakarta and South Korea. The training camp is a preparation for the Garuda Nusantara squad – nicknamed the U-20 Indonesian National Team – for the 2023 U-20 World Cup which will be held from May 20 to June 11 in Indonesia.
Of the 29 U-20 Indonesian National Team players, at least three new players have been called up by Shin Tae-yong based on his recent performance in the 2022-2023 League 1. The three players are Kadek Arel (Bali United), Made Tito Wiratama (Bali United), and Victor Dethan (PSM Makassar).
The three players above were called Shin Tae-yong because they were considered to have good playing minutes in League 1 this season. Kadek Arel recorded 180 minutes, Made Tito recorded 383 minutes, and Victor Dethan recorded 256 minutes this season.
Unfortunately, Shin Tae-yong has arguably missed out on two of the biggest talents in League 1 who have impressed so far this season. The 52-year-old tactician did not call Ridho Syuhada (PSIS Semarang) and Ananda Raehan (PSM Makassar).
