The Super Cup and Judo as a family fill the Ferrándiz

Judo never fails in Alicante. The Super Cup children and cadets and the training event for the little ones filled the Pedro Ferrándiz throughout the weekend. It is one of the most important competitions in this discipline and categories, since it featured competitors from the Netherlands and Switzerland. In addition, 200 coaches and 30 referees from all over Spain were registered in the Super Cup, of which 20 are official referees assigned by the organization. To all of them must be added the thirty volunteers who collaborated in the organization and development of these days on the tatamis of Pedro Ferrándiz. The competition was sponsored by the Trinidad Alfonso Foundation in the PAC-CV, which is the support plan for competitions in the Valencian community. The Isabel Fernández Spanish Super Cup was organized by the Isabel Fernández Judo School, in collaboration with the Alicante City Council, the Department of Sports, the Valencian Judo Federation, the Royal Spanish Judo Federation and the Montemar Athletic Club, together with the Provincial Council of Alicante and the Generalitat Valenciana.

The competition demonstrated the quality of athletes from Alicante taking the top positions as was the case of Sara Alonso Fernandez, daughter of Olympic medalist Isabel Fernández and Javier Alonso. She was proclaimed champion of the children’s Super Cup demonstrating good fundamentals. The tatami was filled with family judo on Saturday afternoon.
