The Playoffs – Day 4 of NFL Combine 2023 has RBs and OL players

The 2023 NFL Combine came to an end this Sunday (5) at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis. Running backs and offensive linemen took to the field for the fourth and final day’s activities.

Some of the top names in the positions were in attendance. Among the RBs, Bijan Robinson (Texas), Jahmyr Gibbs (Alabama), Devon Achane (Texas A&M) and Zach Charbonnet (UCLA) participated in the drills. Among the OLs, Peter Skoronski (Northwestern), Broderick Jones (Georgia) and Anton Johnson (Oklahoma) were some of the invited names.

Chase Brown excelled in RB drills. The Illinois player had the fifth fastest time in the 40 yards (4.46s), led the vertical jump (1.02m) and the long jump (3.23m).

Tyjae Spears recorded good numbers and also impressed in field exercises. Deputy leader in touchdowns (19) and fifth in rushing yards (1,581) last college football season, the Tulane star was among the top three in the vertical jump and long jump. In the first exercise, Spears had the second best mark (99cm). In the second, he finished with the third best mark (3.18m).

Bijan Robinson had a good day of activities. The main running back in the class had the sixth best mark in the 40 yards (4.46s) and had a great explosion, being the third fastest in the stretch of the first 10 yards (1.52s). The Texas running back was sixth in the vertical jump (94cm) and fourth in the long jump (3.175cm).

Among offensive linemen, Skoronski was the top name of the day. Looking to prove that he can play tackle in the NFL, the Northwestern player appeared near the top in every drill. Skoronski ran the 40 yards in 5.16s, but had the ninth best mark in the opening 10 yards (1.75s). Northwestern’s tackle was second best in the vertical jump (87.6 cm) and long jump (2.92 m).

Broderick Jones led the 40 yards at 4.97s. Georgia’s left tackle yielded no sacks for the entire 2022 season.

Still among the OLs, highlight for the little talked about Blake Freeland (BYU). A four-year starter at right tackle and left tackle, Freeland has conceded just two career sacks. One of the largest in his class (2.03m), the Cougars player impressed with his athletic ability. Freeland had the third best mark in the 40 yards (4.98s), leading in the opening 10 yards (1.68s). BYU’s tackle still led in the long jump (3.05m) and set a new record among OLs in the vertical jump (94cm).

The 2023 NFL Draft will take place April 27-29 in Kansas City, Missouri.
