The BWF World Tour stops in Spain, where the 2023 edition of the Spain Masters is held, an event hosted by the Centro Deportivo Municipal Gallur in Madrid. It is a competition that is part of the second level, starting from the bottom, namely Super 300. It will also be one of only two events touched by the month of April, given the presence of the Orléans Masters from 4 to 9 before a long gap.
It is an event that, since 2018, in the men’s singles, has expressed only Europeans as winners (specifically two Danes, Rasmus Genke and Viktor Axelsenand a Frenchman Toma Junior Popov). In the other specialties, however, almost total Asian domination with only two continental successes in 16 events.
