Jakub Kamiński is making better and better performances in the Bundesliga, where he has been playing for VfL Wolfsburg since July last year. He has made 22 league appearances this season, notching three assists and scoring one goal against Bayern Munich. Therefore, it did not escape the attention of Fernando Santos, who selected the 20-year-old for the team for the first qualifying matches for the European Championship 2024.

Now Kamiński spoke about working with the new coach during an interview with the “Łączy nas Bałka” portal. – He has a slightly different approach to the team than previous coaches. At least he introduced many rules, which he consistently adheres to and requires the same from players and staff members. We have to wear pads at every training session, and we must spend two hours in our rooms after lunch. It’s time to rest, you can’t use physiotherapeutic treatments or drink coffee in the hotel lobby during it – confessed the winger of the Polish national team.
– He immediately told us that there was no discussion about the protectors. In the evening, the “physio” room is open until 11 pm and not a minute longer. At this time, everyone finishes work, and we are to be in our rooms – continued Kamiński.
Later in the conversation, the young footballer compared the Portuguese to Adam Nawałka, with whom he had the opportunity to work in Lech Poznań. As it turns out, both trainers had similar rules. – In Lech it was comparable. He (Nawałka – ed.) also had his own rules, maybe not necessarily regarding the time of going to physiotherapists, but he introduced a few of them. During national team training camps in Warsaw, we used to go to training dressed up so far, and after reaching the pitch, we started it. Now, after leaving the bus, we still have 45 minutes to ourselves before the actual classes start – he admitted.
Kamiński also said a bit about his current form and disposition – I consider myself ready, because I regularly play in one of the best leagues in the world. Mentally and physically I am ready to take on the role of one of the leaders on the pitch. This is my individual goal – added the student of Lech Poznań.
