The most ‘angrily’ players in the NBA

The NBA is usually synonymous with impossible baskets, improbable triples and spectacular dunks… but it is also ‘fights’, ‘trash talking’ and somewhat debatable refereeing decisions.

Within the league there are some players who ‘go with the march’ and move like a fish in water in the midst of protests for (almost) any arbitration decision… or when facing the rival on duty. Undoubtedly, the ideal breeding ground for technical fouls to come and go without stopping.

The names of the most ‘vinegar’ players in the NBA are well known to everyone: Luka Doncic y Dillan Brooksthe current ‘bad boy’ in the league, but more than one name appears on this list that will surprise more than one.

None of them reach the level of Rasheed Wallace in the 2000/01 season, when he received a whopping 41 technical fouls!, a figure that (luckily) it seems that no other player will reach… or will it?

16

Dillon Brooks

Memphis Grizllies

The King of techniques in the NBA and the first who has already had to serve a game suspension after reaching 16 technical fouls. The current ‘bad boy’ of the NBA.

16

Luka Doncic

Dallas Mavericks

Another regular on this list. Last year he already had to serve a one-game suspension due to technical fouls… and this year he will have to repeat and he will miss the next Mavericks game after receiving his 16th technique so far in the last game against the Pelicans seasonal

15

Draymond Green

Golden State Warriors

And another ‘classic’ completes the podium. A true ‘loudmouth’ and expert in ‘trash talking’. He has so far added 15 techniques and few doubt that he will be penalized before the end of the regular season. Together with Jordan Poole, he forms the most ‘vinegar’ couple in the entire NBA.

13

Trae Young

Atlanta Hawks

Beneath that appearance of a fragile base and something puny hides a fierce competitor who does not hesitate to use all his skills to disconcert his rivals… and unsettle the referees, who have already indicated 13 techniques to him this season.

13

Anthony Edwards

The Minnesota Timberwolves

Another that ‘kills them by keeping quiet’. Edwards started his NBA career much more reserved, but perhaps he has blended in with his character in the movie ‘Hustle’ (with Juancho Hernangómez as the protagonist), a true provocateur and dominator of the art of ‘trash talking’

12

Jordan Poole

Golden State Warriors

As we have already commented previously, together with Draymond Green they form the most ‘fighting’ duo in the entire NBA: 27 techniques contemplate them, 15 for the power forward and 12 for the point guard-escort. Given the panorama, it is not strange that at the beginning of the season both got involved in a fight during training.

11

De’Aaron Fox

Sacramento Kings

Another case similar to Young’s in which appearances are deceptive. Fox is a “small” point guard (1.90 and 83 kilos) who also plays for a team, the Kings, which is not among the most popular in the NBA, but which “quietly shuts up” already has 11 technical fouls in what we have in season

11

Kevin Durant

Phoenix Suns

Despite having been injured for much of the season, Kevin Durant has just over 40 games left over to accumulate up to 11 technical fouls! and get into the TOP10 of the most ‘fighting’ players in the NBA. Injured again, it is difficult for him to ‘ascend’ positions in this dishonorable classification.

10

Jayson Tatum

Boston Celtics

Another cheating player. The NBA wants to sell him as one of its images for the future and it is common to see him with his son on the parquet, but under that appearance of a ‘good boy’ hides a born competitor who does not hesitate to protest and complain to the referees, something which has already cost him 10 techniques in this 2022/23.

10

DeMar DeRozan

Chicago Bulls

The Chicago Bulls star is also his team leader… in technical fouls, with 10 so far this season. A dozen of these types of fouls are also carried, in addition to the aforementioned Tatum and DeRozan, by players like Patrick Beverley (DeMar’s teammate, but all his techniques have been as a Lakers player), Kelly Oubre Jr. ( Charlotte Hornets), Marcus Morris (LA Clippers), Nick Claxton (Brooklyn Nets) and Bojan Bogdanovic (Detroit Pistons).
