The games selected for the Olympic Esports Series have been revealed and they are disappointing players!

The games for the Olympic Esports Series have been revealed and many players seem to be greatly disappointed with the selection made by the committee.

The 2024 Paris Olympics are highly anticipated and before the start of these games, the Olympic Esports Series will take place in 2023 in Singapore, although at the beginning, the IOC did not want to organize an event dedicated to Esport.

In order to make the players wait, the Olympic Committee unveiled the events and the titles selected to represent them, but the least we can say is that it rather disappointed the public. We will explain why and give you the selection of games.

Which games are selected for the Olympic Esports Series?

If, like most players, you are wondering which events and games are chosen, the answer has been given by the Olympic Committee on Twitter and on its website (source). Here are the selected games:

  • Tir à l’arc – Tic Tac Bow
  • Baseball – WBSC eBASEBALL: POWER PROS
  • Chess – Chess.com
  • Cycling – Zwift
  • Danse – Just Dance
  • Motorsport – Grand Touring
  • Sailing race – Virtual Regatta
  • Taekwondo – Virtual Taekwondo
  • Tennis – Tennis Clash

Nevertheless, this selection disappoints many players and the reason is simple since no game really representing the world of Esport has been chosen by the organizers. Of course, the choices can be explained by the desire to have “real” sports simulations and not just popular games like Street Fighter which could have represented the martial arts or even FIFA or EA SPORTS FC to represent the football present at the Olympic Games.

It should nevertheless be noted that two games speaking to the video game community have chosen, namely Just Dance and Gran Turismo. Finally, we remind you that the Olympic Esports Series will take place in Singapore from June 22 to 25 at the Suntec Center.
