Sun Life Becomes Official Health and Wellness Partner of Canada Basketball

Sun Life will be the jersey forward partner of the Canada Basketball Senior Men’s and Women’s Teams.

The new team jerseys will be unveiled today and will be worn by both teams on the international stage at the upcoming FIBA ​​Men’s Basketball World Cup 2023 and Women’s AmeriCup 2023 this summer.

As the official health and wellness partner of Canada Basketball, the sponsorship between Sun Life and Canada Basketball will focus on promoting physical and mental health, as well as wellness.

TORONTO (March 21, 2023) – Canada Basketball and Sun Life have entered into a multi-year sponsorship agreement that will make Sun Life the Official Health and Wellness Partner and new Jersey Forward Partner of Canada Basketball.

The Sun Life logo will appear on the front of Canada’s Senior Men’s and Women’s National Team game shirts starting this summer. Canada’s Senior Women’s National Team will begin its road to the Olympic Games with participation in the FIBA ​​Women’s AmeriCup starting July 1, 2023. Canada’s Senior Men’s National Team will compete in the FIBA ​​Men’s Basketball World Cup in from August 25, 2023 which will take place in the Philippines, Japan and Indonesia.

This sponsorship allows Sun Life to expand its presence in the basketball community in Canada. It also helps strengthen the relationship between Canada Basketball, Sun Life and

as health and wellness. In 2017, Sun Life became the first jersey partner of the Toronto Raptors. In 2022, Sun Life then became the Official Health and Wellness Partner of the Toronto Raptors. Last year, Sun Life and Canada Basketball partnered to award three $10,000 scholarships to local and regional organizations committed to developing basketball and improving access to organized sport for communities and youth who know financial difficulties.

This multi-year agreement was brokered by Canada Basketball’s commercial partnership agency, OVG Canada. The agency began operations in 2022, with Canada Basketball as its first brand-side client.
