Spain parks its qualification for the Eurocup until September

After defeating Norway in Malaga (3-0) and losing to Scotland (2-0), the Spanish team parked its qualifying phase for Euro 2024 for a few months, as its next big goal is to win the Nations League, to be played in mid-June in the Netherlands.

Luis de la Fuente’s team will not compete again until Thursday June 15, when they will face Italy in the second semifinal of the Nations, at the De Grolsch Veste stadium in the city of Enschede.

In case of winning, Spain would play the final of the tournament on June 18 in Rotterdam against the winner of the other semifinal (which will face Croatia and the Netherlands), and in case of losing, they would play for third place, also on Sunday, June 18.

On those dates, Spain’s rivals in the qualifying phase for the Eurocup will play the third and fourth day of the group, with a Norway-Scotland match on June 17, which could be decisive.

The team will resume its path to the Eurocup in September: it will do so with two theoretically affordable games. First, in Georgia, on September 8 at 6:00 p.m., and then against Cyprusin Santander, on Tuesday, September 12.

Appointments in October and November

In the month of October, Spain will play another two qualifying matches for Euro 2024: they will receive Scotland on the 12th (in a stadium yet to be determined, probably in some Andalusian city) and will travel to Norway to face the Nordic team on the 15th.

For November there will be two other games, the last of the classification: Cyprus-Spain and Spain-Georgia in Valladolid, which will be played on November 16 and 19, respectively.
