Shiffrin overtakes Stenmark in the list of the most victorious alpine skiers of all time

Shiffrin also secured the Small Crystal Globe in the giant slalom on Friday, reaching her 15th overall trophy in her career.

Shifrin was the leader after the first race, but in the second race she showed the sixth result, which did not prevent her from celebrating the overall victory. Runner-up Federica Brignone of Italy was 0.64 seconds slower, with host Sarah Hector a further 0.28 seconds behind. Slovakian Petra Vlhova remained half a second behind the top three.

It is significant that on December 20, 2012, the then 17-year-old Šifrin won her first World Cup victory in Ore. Shiffrin, who will celebrate her 28th birthday on Monday, reached the 86-win mark five years earlier than Stenmark.
