Sevilla FC, close to relegation to La Liga, have sacked their Argentinian coach Jorge Sampaoli, who took over from Julen Lopetegui on October 6, 2022, the Andalusian club announced in a press release on Tuesday.

Sampaoli is the second coach dismissed this week in Spain, after the dismissal Monday of Pablo Machin in Elche, dead last in the Spanish championship.
Passed by the bench of the selections of Chile and Argentina, as well as that of Olympique de Marseille, Sampaoli has not succeeded in redressing the situation of Sevilla FC, which has continued to flirt with the red zone since the start of the La Liga season.
