«The fact that the team has failed to rise from the bottom of the standings since taking over as coach and the image offered in recent meetings have led the club to take this decision.“, added Sevilla FC who hopes that a new coach will train”a reaction during the last twelve daysof the championship.

Jose Luis Mendilibar on pole

According to the press, the Sevillian club is already negotiating with the Basque technician José Luis Mendilibar, without a club since his dismissal from Alavés last season.

The club hopes that the signing of a new manager will comefrom tuesday“so that this one”can conduct the training session scheduled at 6:00 p.m.» (17H00 GMT).

Sampaoli is the second coach dismissed this week in Spain, after the dismissal Monday of Pablo Machin in Elche, dead last in the Spanish championship.

Passed by the bench of the selections of Chile and Argentina, as well as that of Olympique de Marseille, Sampaoli has not succeeded in redressing the situation of Sevilla FC, which has continued to flirt with the red zone since the start of the La Liga season.

Mediocre balance sheet

After its last defeat against a direct competitor for maintenance, the Andalusian club is now 14th in the standings with 28 points, two points ahead of the first relegated, Valencia CF (18th, 26 points).

Since his appointment, Sampaoli has accumulated thirteen wins, six draws and twelve defeats in 31 matches in all competitions. In La Liga, he has recorded only six victories in 18 matchdays.
