San Diego, California, March 1, 2023 – In terms of college basketball, San Diego is as fine as a three-pointer.
Now, after five years in the making, America’s greatest city will host the newest Thanksgiving holiday college basketball tournament every year, the Rady Children’s Invitational.
“It is exciting to announce that this event will take place on Thanksgiving,” said Mark Neville, Executive Director of the San Diego Sports Association. “When we got down to business, we wanted to do it big. We want to celebrate the best tournament in the country”.
Neville said that San Diego is the perfect place to host a tournament of this caliber because San Diego is a great sports city.
“It has big sports fans and people who love big events,” he said.
Rady Children’s Hospital joined as a title sponsor of this next great San Diego event.
However, the Rady Children’s Invitational is not just a high-level basketball tournament. This tournament is also a great boost for the San Diego tourism industry.
The four-team tournament will take place at the Lion Tree at UC San Diego this coming Thanksgiving, and whenever legendary San Diego State Aztecs coach Steve Fisher is on hand, it’s been known to it will be special.
