Roland Garros > Toni Nadal: “What is important for Rafa is that when he goes to play, he is convinced that he can win and he is in the process of doing so, knowing that things are getting more harder every year”

Rafael Nadal’s uncle gave a nice interview to Marca sports daily. Toni discusses several subjects and in particular that of Roland‐Garros. Even if he no longer trains Rafa, he sees him training every day in his academy. His opinion is therefore a good barometer to know where his nephew is.

“I think if Rafa arrives in his best form, he can be considered a favourite, along with Alcaraz and Djokovic. Alcaraz is at a very high level and improving. I think he will be one of those three. Let’s not kid ourselves, when Rafa goes into competition, he needs guarantees to win. I don’t think he will go play if he is not convinced that he will succeed. He is excited. He is aware that to be in the top 10, you have to play constantly. He knew this was coming. It’s not something that worries him too much. What is important is that when he goes to play he is convinced that he can win and he is doing it, knowing that things are getting more and more difficult every year.
